Description: Cultivar. Crested form of blue candle cactus, prized for dramatic, fan-shaped, undulating growth that resembles coral or waves. Stems are typically pale green to blue-green with golden-yellow highlights along the growing edges, especially in bright light. Slow growing and achieves same mature size in-ground or in containers. Prefers full sun; but young or potted specimens benefit from afternoon shade in extreme summer heat. Requires excellent drainage and should be protected from freezes. Rarely flowers but valued for unique form and color. Ideal as a specimen in containers, rock gardens, or modern xeric landscapes.
