Description: Adapted. Thick, spiny blue-green leaves forms a large, upright rosette and can eventually develop a single tall trunk. In late fall to winter, towering orange to red flower spikes attract hummingbirds and pollinators. Requires excellent drainage and cold protection during hard freezes. Best placed in protected microclimates or grown in large containers that can be moved during cold snaps. An excellent architectural focal point for xeric and succulent-focused designs.
