Botanical Name: Agave weberi
Mature Size: 4-6ft H, 6-8ft W
Light Requirement: Sun
Water Need: Very Low
Cold Hardiness: Zone 8 (15 to 20F) to 10 (35 to 40F)
Description: Adapted. Fast-growing. Broad, gray-blue leaves that curve gently outward and end in sharp terminal spines. Leaf margins have small teeth but are less aggressive than some other large agaves. Monocarpic (dies after flowering) and offsets freely, forming substantial colonies over time. Flower spike, at 8-12 years, can reach 15-20 feet tall. Pale yellow blooms attract pollinators. Heat and drought-tolerant, and well-suited to full sun and reflected light. An excellent choice for bold massing, focal points in xeric landscapes, or as a substitute for Agave americana where a softer silhouette is preferred.
