Description: A tropical, evergreen, flowering palm native to Madagascar, adapted to warm areas of Texas. Large greenish silver fan-shaped leaves, with a waxy coating. Leaves form on a single gray to tan trunk with a slight bulge at the base. Late spring small fragrant flowers. Females will produce inedible fruit. Adaptable to different soil types. Must have good drainage. Drought and heat tolerance once established.
