Description: Adapted. Hardy clumping palm. Slender, bamboo-like canes; graceful, feathery fronds. Remarkably cold-hardy, surviving typical winters when sited in sheltered locations. Showy flowers spring to early summer; small clusters of orange-red ornamental fruit eaten by birds. Wind-pollinated. Deer resistant and low-maintenance once established. Use in groups for screening, or as accent palm in shady, protected beds, woodland edges, where bamboo-like form can be showcased.
