Description: Large, deciduous tree of eastern North America. Brilliant fall color--ranging from yellow to deep orange and red, valued for its dense canopy. Grow with protection from extreme heat. Needs even moisture and deeper soils with good drainage. Less tolerant of high pH and compacted soils. Best used in partially shaded sites, north-facing slopes.
