Mature Size: 8-15ft H, 3-5ft W, Vine Spread Varies with Support and Pruning
Light Requirement: Sun
Water Need: Medium
Cold Hardiness: Zone 8 (10 to 15F) to 10 (35 to 40F)
Description: Adapted. Evergreen, twining vine with glossy green leaves edged in creamy white, sometimes flushed pink in cool weather. Produces fragrant, white, pinwheel-shaped flowers late spring to early summer, with occasional light rebloom in fall. Attractive to bees. Slightly slower growing than green-leaved Star Jasmine but equally durable once established. In highly reflective locations some afternoon shade is appreciated. Leaves and stems contain compounds that can cause mild to moderate nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea if ingested, with severe cases rare but possible in small pets or children; the milky latex sap may also cause mild skin irritation in sensitive individuals. Prune after flowering to keep growth compact, maintain visual impact, and prevent it from becoming woody or leggy. Excellent for adding fragrance, evergreen coverage, and variegated foliage interest to trellises, fences, and arbors, or as a striking groundcover in ornamental beds.
