Description: Cultivar. Deciduous to semi-evergreen. Twining vine; leaves emerge soft green in spring, maturing to blue-green. Clusters of fragrant, tubular flowers in shades of deep pink, rose, and gold late spring through summer; sporadic blooms into fall. Attracts hummingbirds, butterflies, and other pollinators. Foliage may persist in mild winters but typically drops after freezes. Best blooms in full sun. Prefers well-drained soil and benefits from mulch to keep roots cool in summer. Tolerates drought once established but best flowering with consistent watering. More contained than invasive Lonicera japonica. Blooms on new wood, so prune in late winter or very early spring for best flowering. Ideal for adding long-season interest to fences, arbors, or trellises in ornamental gardens.
