Description: One of many almost identical green leaved tropical plants native to Brazil. This one blooms around Christmas as opposed to Thanksgiving, or Easter. The leaves are flat and set end to end coming from the base of the plant. Colorful flowers form at the end of the leaf stem. The plant has shallow roots and will flower more if slightly rootbound. They prefer indirect sunlight and appreciate some humidity. Most often used as a houseplant.
