Description: Generally, 1 of 3 varieties of full-size fig trees grown in central Texas. Sometimes thorny, shallow rooted, multi trunked, deciduous trees. Fig trees do not blossom. The fruit is the blossom. Fruit sets from June through August depending on the variety. Need at least 6 to 8 hours of sunlight daily, with morning sun the most important. Trees often freeze back to the ground in Austin and can be pruned to maintain desired size.
