Description: Evergreen large shrub, native to Asia, adapted to much of Texas. Wavy green leaves display brown specks on top and silvery flecked lighter green below. Flowers, in fall, are insignificant looking but strongly scented, and turn to berries significant to birds in cooler periods. This shrub is known to send out branches from the base, up to 2ft in height, often with no leaves. Can be kept tightly pruned and makes a very durable heat and drought tolerant hedge. Does not like wet feet.
