Description: Adapted/Native depending on species. Deciduous. Vines and groundcovers with distinctive pipe-shaped flowers and varied foliage sizes. A. fimbriata is a low, spreading groundcover with rounded leaves and fringed blooms; A. reticulata (Texas Dutchman's Pipe) and A. tomentosa are native host plants for the pipevine swallowtail butterfly, with smaller flowers and foliage adapted to Central and East Texas conditions.
