Description: Adapted. Clumping. One of most reliable and versatile bamboo species for Central Texas, known for dense growth, narrow footprint, and moderate height. Thrives in full sun with irrigation; adapts to partial shade and becomes drought-tolerant once established. Winter mulch recommended, especially young plants. Tolerant of pruning; well-suited to screening, hedging, or container use, depending on cultivar. In containers 10-15ft H, 3-5ft W, variety dependent. Popular for residential and urban applications; manageable size and non-invasive behavior.

Alphonse Karr: Golden-yellow culms; green striping. In ground 15-20ft H, 6-8ft W. In containers 8-15ft H, 3-5ft W. Tall privacy screens or formal accents.

Chinese Goddess: Graceful; arching. In ground 8-10ft H, 4-6ft W. In containers 6-8ft H, 3-4ft W. Adapts to partial shade or full sun with irrigation. Good for decorative screening.
