Description: Adapted. Distinctive. Clumping. Swollen, segmented culms resembling belly shape, especially when container-grown or stressed. Canes are green to yellow-green; grow in dense clusters with slightly arching tips. Takes well to pruning; top to control height; thin for shape; lower leaves removed to expose unique culm form. Requires frost protection in winters, including mulch at base, and regular watering in peak heat. In containers 10-15ft H, 3-4ft W. Use as sculptural accent in courtyards or tropical-themed landscapes.
