Description: Semi-evergreen small tree or large shrub native to West and Central Texas. Features small, dark green leaflets and a compact, rounded form. Inconspicuous spring flowers are followed by small samaras (winged seeds). Tolerant of heat, drought, and rocky soils, it makes an excellent choice for xeriscapes, understory plantings, or wildlife gardens. May remain evergreen in mild winters and grows well in limestone soils.
