Description: Native of Texas Trans Pecos region. Thick, upright blue-green leaves; dramatically scalloped edges lined with pronounced red teeth. Dense, symmetrical rosette. Monocarpic (dies after flowering) but produces offsets moderately. Flower spike, at 10-15 years, can reach 15-20 feet tall. Reddish or yellow blooms attract pollinators. Very heat; drought-tolerant once established, though some protection from reflected afternoon heat may help reduce leaf blemishes. Ideal for focal points, bold mass plantings, and southwestern or contemporary dry gardens.
