Botanical Name: Yucca gigantea (syn. Yucca elephantipes)
Mature Size: 15-30ft H, 6-10ft W
Light Requirement: Sun
Water Need: Very Low
Cold Hardiness: Zone 9 (20 to 25F) to 11 (above 45F)
Description: Adapted. Tall, trunk-forming with multiple heads of broad, soft-edged green leaves that lack the rigid tips common to most species. Leaves are flexible and non-spiny, making it safer for close quarters and walkways. Flower spikes reaching 15-20ft H, with large clusters of creamy white blooms that attract pollinators. Foliage is generally deer resistant but may be sampled in times of drought due to its softness. Requires excellent drainage and protection from hard frost. Performs well as a tropical-looking accent or sculptural focal point in warm, dry landscapes or containers.
