Botanical Name: Yucca aloifolia
Mature Size: 6-12ft H, 4-6ft W
Light Requirement: Sun to Partial Shade
Water Need: Very Low
Cold Hardiness: Zone 7 (5 to 10F) to 11 (above 45F)
Description: Adapted. Upright, single or multi-trunked with stiff, sharply pointed leaves arranged in dense rosettes. Foliage is deep green with a waxy surface. Spikes, 8-15ft H of white, bell-shaped flowers in late spring to summer, attract pollinators. Slowly forms colonies through offsets or trunk branching. While tolerant of full sun, it benefits from afternoon shade in areas with intense reflected heat; near walls or pavement, to prevent leaf scorch. Requires excellent drainage and benefits from protection against strong winter winds or extreme cold snaps. Deer resistant. Ideal as a bold specimen or barrier plant in xeric landscapes.
