Description: A native multi stemmed, upright evergreen shrub. The small glossy green leaves are held on reddish stems and retain their color well through the winter. The bark is a smooth gray. Abundant, small white tubular flowers with yellow throats from late winter to early spring attract pollinators. Fruits of bluish black appear in summer. Deer tend to choose other plants before this one. Prune after flowering. Excellent as a natural screen or hedge.
