Description: Deciduous shrub native to east Texas. Spring masses of long fragrant white flowers at the tips. Fall colors are purple and reds. Prune for shape and best flowering in morning sun. Good erosion control as it can form colonies. Prefers moist acidic soil but can tolerate some drought and more alkaline soil. Must be shielded from late afternoon sun.
