Description: Adapted. Large fleshy-leaved succulent with seasonal blooms. Leaves may be paddle-shaped, tubular, or scalloped, often with colorful margins or powdery coatings. Some varieties produce showy clusters of small, tubular flowers in shades of red, yellow, or orange. Morning sun and afternoon shade in hot climates prevent leaf scorch. Extremely drought-tolerant and ideal for containers. Not frost-hardy; requires winter protection or indoor shelter during freezing temperatures.
Notable Varieties:
Flapjack or Paddle Plant: Flat, paddle-shaped leaves with red margins in sun.
Walking: Offsets on long stolons that move away from the parent plant.
