Description: Native to some parts of Texas. Deciduous, multi trunk, large shrub to small tree. Flowers in late spring resemble a cloud of smoke. Leaves start slightly pink, changing to blue green, before turning magenta in fall. Dark, flaking bark. It prefers rocky soil and minimal fertilizer. Tolerates urban conditions and is drought tolerant once established.
