Description: Native. Low, trailing. Fine-textured, silvery foliage. Forms dense mats in sun or light shade; spreading by runners. Height varies; shorter in lean, dry soils; taller with more moisture and nutrients. Very heat- and drought-tolerant, thriving in rock gardens, parkways, or as a cascading accent over walls and containers. Can be mowed or lightly trimmed to maintain uniformity, though its natural draping habit is a signature feature. Must have good drainage. Deer resistant and resilient once established. Flowers are small and inconspicuous. Use as groundcover carpet, container accent, wall and rock spillover, small-scale lawn alternative, or contrast plant in xeric or modern designs.
