Description: Native to Texas and one of few salvias  adapted to grow in the leaf-mulch and shade of Ashe Junipers. Red flowers are in abundance in spring and occasionally during the summer. Butterfly and hummingbird friendly. Drought tolerance once established. Similar to Tropical Sage (Salvia coccinea) but root hardy.
