Description: Adapted. Vigorous, tropical vine; lush green foliage; highly fragrant flowers; open white, then turn pink and deep red over several days. Blooms from late spring through fall. Attracts pollinators, especially butterflies. May die back in freezes but often regrows from roots in mild winters. Mulch well and protect from hard frost. Benefits from some late afternoon shade when in exposed locations and to prolong bloom. Additional water needed during extended dry periods to boost flowering. Prune right after main bloom flush in late summer or early fall, before temperatures drop, to shape and control size. Dramatic, long-season color and fragrance for tropical influence in Mediterranean inspired-style gardens, covering trellises, arbors, fences, or pergolas where its cascading flower clusters can be showcased.
