Description: One of the more cold hardy palms and native to parts of the US. A slow growing, clump forming evergreen palm. The foliage is green on top with blue-gray shades underneath and have needle-like spines that are sharp and stiff. Small yellow flowers in spring produce small red to black fruits. Low maintenance. Drought tolerance once established. Use in mass plantings, as privacy hedging, or as an accent.
