Hardy terrestrial orchid with pleated, strap-like leaves and spikes of pink to purple orchid-like flowers in spring. Prefers rich, well-drained soil with consistent moisture. Dies back in winter and returns in spring. Best used in shaded beds, borders, or woodland gardens.
