Description: Cultivar. Smooth, spineless pads make this one of the most user-friendly prickly pears available. Grows in clumps with broad, rounded pads and produces showy yellow flowers, attractive to pollinators, in spring, followed by red fruit. While completely spineless on pads, small glochids are still present and can irritate skin. Anecdotal reports suggest this variety successfully performs in Zone 6 gardens when planted in well-drained soil. Requires full sun and minimal water. Excellent for family-friendly xeric designs, urban landscapes, and areas where safety and ease of maintenance are priorities.
