Description: An evergreen native to Texas. Flowering in early spring with distinctive purple flowers that smell like grape soda. It prefers rocky limestone cliffs so good drainage is essential. Slow growing and important to Monarchs. Late season pruning will eliminate flowering for the following year. Sometimes grown as a tree form.
