Description: A very slow growing, broadleaf evergreen tree native to the west coast of the US. Trees can be very long lived. The leaves are glossy green and the smooth brown bark peels. Fragrant white flower clusters, in spring, are followed by red berries popular with wildlife. The plant prefers somewhat acidic soil.
