Description: Adapted. Evergreen to semi-evergreen twining vine grown for profusion of intensely fragrant pink buds that open to starry white flowers in late winter to early spring. Buds are deep rose-pink, creating a two-tone effect as they open. Foliage generally persists through mild winters but may partially defoliate after freezes, recovering quickly with warm weather. Blooms on old wood, so prune lightly after flowering to control size without removing next year's buds. Can be grown in-ground with protection or in containers that are brought into shelter during extreme cold. Best for covering trellises, arbors, and fences where fragrance can be enjoyed up close in early spring gardens.
