Description: Lenten roses are evergreen or semi-evergreen perennials prized for early bloom time and attractive foliage. Thriving in shaded areas with moist, well-drained, alkaline to neutral soils. Flowers late winter through early spring in shades of white, pink, burgundy, green, and nearly black, often nodding downward and are long-lasting. These deer- and rabbit-resistant plants form clumps over time and are ideal for woodland gardens, shaded borders, and under deciduous trees. Protect from afternoon sun and ensure soil doesn't stay soggy during hot summer months.
