GRASS LIRIOPE VARIEGATED 4"
$3.50 / EA

Botanical Name:  Liriope variegated varieties

Mature Size: 12-18in H, 12-18in W

Light Requirement: Sun to Partial Shade

Water Need: Low to Medium

Cold Hardiness: Zone 7 (0 to 5F) to 10 (35 to 40F)

Description: Adapted. Evergreen clumping or spreading groundcovers. Grass-like striped foliage, summer lavender-to-purple flower spikes followed by mildly toxic black berries. Only minor significance for pollinators. Plants adapt well to varied light conditions, though foliage variegation shows best with some filtered sun. Deer resistant. Among the cultivars, differences are most notable in leaf coloration, clumping versus spreading growth habit, and sun tolerance. Once rooted, they can persist with occasional deep watering, especially during prolonged dry spells. Use as durable, evergreen groundcovers or edging plants that add year-round texture, soft color contrast, and low-maintenance structure in shaded to partially sunny beds.

Main Variegated Types
L. muscari Variegata: Classic green leaves; creamy-yellow margins; clumping habit; best in part shade.

L. muscari Silvery Sunproof: Brighter golden striping; holds up better in sun; clumping habit.

L. spicata Variegata: Narrower striped leaves; spreading, more aggressive groundcover suitable for large areas or erosion control.
