Description: Adapted. Tall, shrubby succulent with slender, cylindrical green stems and few leaves. Grows quickly in full sun and performs best in containers or protected in-ground sites with sharp drainage. Some afternoon shade during hottest parts of summer. Rarely blooms and is generally avoided by deer. Cold-sensitive; move or cover in freezing weather. Milky sap is caustic; handle with care. Strong vertical structure makes it ideal for containers, modern xeriscapes, and architectural plantings.
