Description: Deciduous shrub to small tree native to much of the Southwest. One of the earliest plants to bloom with clusters of yellow green flowers on bare wood January through June. Flowers are attractive to birds and butterflies. Tends to form thickets but can be pruned to produce a dense shrub. Blueish black fruits, on female plants, are important to wildlife. High heat tolerance.
