Description: Perennial dianthus, known as pinks, are low-growing, sun-loving perennials admired for their fringed, fragrant flowers and tidy, mounding form. They thrive in full sun with good air circulation and well-drained soils. Hardy bloomers that are heat-tolerant and drought-resistant once established. Use for borders, rock gardens, and containers. Blooming spring through summer--and often reblooming in fall--dianthus varieties offer a palette of pink, red, white, and bi-color flowers, many with a spicy clove scent. Deadheading encourages repeat blooming. Toxic to humans and animals.

Common Varieties:

Raspberry Surprise: Fragrant, double pink blooms with deep raspberry centers. Compact growth and excellent reblooming.

Firewitch: Classic variety with bright magenta, clove-scented blooms and fine blue-green foliage. Very heat- and drought-tolerant; reblooms in cooler weather.

Baths Pink: Spreading, groundcover-style perennial with soft pink, fragrant blooms. Excellent for dry conditions and rocky soils.
