Description: Large, shrubby tender perennial native to many parts of southern US. The flowers, which open at night, are white, large, trumpet shaped, and fragrant. Flowers will appear even on a first-year plant. If planted in the ground the plant will die back after a freeze and return the following spring, otherwise, if in pots, they need to be taken in. They will also reestablish from seed. If given regular water, plant will get larger and will have more flowers. An important larval host for the Carolina Sphinx Moth. Poisonous to humans and deer resistant.
