Description: Coneflowers are a group of North American native resilient perennials with many hybrid types as well. A multitude of colors and growth characteristics exist as well. Features of all are upright stems topped with daisy-like flowers in shades of purple, pink, or white, each with a prominent cone-shaped center that attracts bees, butterflies, and birds. Blooms late spring through summer and often into fall with regular deadheading. tolerates poor soils if well-drained and is heat/drought tolerant once established. Must have at least 4 hours of sun daily. Use in pollinator gardens, wildflower meadows, and mixed borders.
