Description: Fast growing, large evergreen shrub, with large glossy green leaves, native to parts of Texas. This is the main type but several other varieties with varying sizes are grown. Spring, fragrant, flowers are white and are followed by black fruits, poisonous to humans but valued by wildlife. Need consistent moisture and should be pruned to maintain shape. Grown as a tree form.
