Description: Camellias are a group of evergreen shrubs adapted to Texas. A dense shrub with glossy green leaves and long-lasting flowers that come in shades of white, pink, red, and streaked. Flowers can also be single or double. Sasanqua bloom late fall to early winter. Japonica bloom late winter to early spring. In addition, japonica usually has larger leaves. Both varieties benefit from a raised bed and prefer well-draining acidic soil. Place them out of any direct sun.
