Description: One of about 30 types of Cholla. This is a jointed cactus native to Mexico and southern parts of the US. Stems are cylindrical and tend to break easily at the joints. Growth habits can be groundcover, shrubby, and sometimes more tree like. Spring flowers can either be orange, pink, yellow or green. Plants prefer acidic to neutral well drained soil, require 6 to 7 hours of direct sunlight a day, and dry soil most of the time.
