Description: Adapted. Slow-growing but long-lived in the right conditions. Iconic globe-shaped cactus with bright yellow radial spines and deeply ribbed green flesh. Produces small yellow flowers in summer, clustered at the crown. Flowers attract pollinators and are followed by yellow fruit. Needs full sun and excellent drainage; susceptible to rot in wet or cold soils. Ideal for raised beds, containers, and rock gardens.
