Description: Upright, deciduous, bushy perennial favored by butterflies, particularly, the Monarch butterfly. There are over 200 varieties worldwide. Most commonly carried is Tropical Milkweed. This one has orange flowers during the warm season and usually dies back to ground during one of Austin0s winter freezes. It also has a substantial taproot. Prune back to ground in the spring to encourage new healthy growth. Salt tolerant and deer resistant, but likely to get aphids.
