Description: Compact, rounded evergreen shrub well-suited to Central Texas landscapes due to its heat tolerance and resistance to leaf bronzing. A selection of Japanese boxwood with dense, glossy green foliage that retains its color better than other microphylla types during winter cold snaps. Ideal for formal hedges, borders, foundation plantings, and containers. Tolerates light shearing and shaping while maintaining a natural form. Compared to other Japanese boxwood, Faulkner grows more slowly and maintains a tighter, more symmetrical shape, making it easier to manage and maintain without frequent pruning. Performs best with morning sun and afternoon shade in Austin.
