Description: An annual with dark green leaves with an even darker underside. The flower stalks rise above the foliage and bear striking purple blooms. Flowers from early spring through frost. Sun will keep the plant a bit more compact, but it will not do well in full sun. Pinch back to encourage more blooms, use a water-soluble fertilizer every 6 to 10 weeks (about 2 and a half months), and make sure to plant with compost initially. The plant can be overwintered inside. Use in large plantings and in containers.
