Description: Short lived perennial or biannual and usually used as an annual in Austin. Varieties are available with colors ranging from white, pink, salmon, red, to bicolor. Plants do best with at least 6 hours if full sun but appreciate shade during late day. They prefer soil that is somewhat alkaline, and watering should be done at base not overhead. Deadheading will spur more blooms. Used extensively during all but the hottest part of the year in Austin.
