Description: Deciduous shrub native to much of the US. Arching form with light green leaves. Leaves on this plant are smaller and spaced closer together than the straight species.  May through July flowers are small, pink, and in dense clusters at the base of leaves. Iridescent purple fruits follow and are an important source of food for wildlife. Autumn leaf color is a drab light yellow.
