Description: A semi evergreen native to southern parts of Texas and into south America. The pinky white flowers somewhat resemble a crape myrtle and are slightly fragrant. Spring through fall flowers produce small red, tart edible berries popular with songbirds and edible for humans. Pollinators enjoy the blooms as well. The plant can tolerate most soils, but good drainage is a must. Drought tolerance once established. Use in habitat gardens and for screening small objects.
