Description: Evergreen, large shrub to small tree used in landscaping in the US since the 1700's. Leaves are light dark green, depending on how much sun the plant receives. Buttery yellow flowers late spring, and sporadically during the rest of the year, smell like a banana popsicle. Flowers are similar to a magnolia and about 1 inch in size. Plant prefers slightly acidic soil.
