Description: Adapted. Running. Tall, vigorous, prized for large, edible shoots; strong, straight culms that grow upright and closely spaced. Must be contained. Grows well in full sun with consistent irrigation; tolerates partial shade with slightly reduced height. Culms 2-3in diameter.  Responds well to thinning and culm pruning for maintenance. Widely used for tall screens, windbreaks, and edible landscapes where rhizome spread can be controlled.
